Description
At the end of this activity, students should be able to: – understand the origin of fossil fuels – recognise the importance of crude oil – know the location of the principal deposits of crude oil in the world – understand the fractional distillation process – know the basic products from fractional distillation of crude oil and their uses – understand the terms ‘cracking’ and ‘reforming’ – be able to perform calculations involving the concepts of density and mass percentage.
