Description
At the end of this activity, students should be able to: – define the carbonyl group, an aldehyde and a ketone and name examples of carbonyl compounds – explain the effect of the presence of a carbonyl group on the physical properties of aldehydes and ketones – design reactions for obtaining simple aldehydes and ketones – describe the occurrence of aldehydes and ketones in nature and give examples of the applications of them.
