Description
At the end of this activity, students should be able to: – describe the alkylation of ammonia and amines – explain how primary, secondary and tertiary amides are formed by the acylation of amines – discuss the physical and acid–base properties of amides – describe the hydrolysis and reduction of amides – describe the main general preparative routes to aliphatic and aromatic amines and use them to plan syntheses.
