At the end of this activity, students should be able to: – describe the decay of radioactive elements – explain the concepts of: half-life, decay constant, mean lifetime; and describe the relationship between them – state the formula for exponential law of decay – explain the concept of the activity, name its units, and state on what its magnitude depends – understand the radiocarbon method and scintigraphic examination.
