Description
At the end of this activity, students should be able to: – explain what a flame test involves, give the flame colours characteristic of lithium, sodium, potassium, barium, calcium, copper and lead, and be able to distinguish between these metals on the basis of their flame colours – describe simple methods for detecting ammonium, carbonate, sulphate(VI), sulphate(IV) and halide ions.
